BRANTINGHAM-GREIG COMMUNITY LIBRARY

MARCH 2008 BOARD MEETING

The Board of Trustees of the BGCL met on March 12, 2008, at 10:10AM at the home of Betty Sawyer.  Present were Betty Sawyer, Erma Andre, Audrey Drake, Marian Lowe, Susie Hammecker, Mary Lee O’Brien, and Judy Wilson.  Carolyn Gaylord was absent.

The minutes of the January 16, 2008, meeting were read and a motion to approve was made by Susie Hammecker and seconded by Betty Sawyer.

The Treasurer’s Report is attached to these minutes.  The library has its new personal tax ID#.  The Town of Greig has not yet made their payments to the library.  Betty submitted a request in writing for funding.  All future requests will be made in writing.

Mary Lee reported that January’s circulation was 147.  The circulation for February was 124.  Our circulation is 68+ books over the years 2006 and 2007.

Erma met with Fran Predmore to help familiarize her with the computer work for the library.

Marian will stay in contact with TJ Loveridge, the guest speaker for our Library Luncheon.  The luncheon will be at the Coachlight in July.

Audrey announced that the new book order has arrived.  She has the current catalog from North Country Books.  She will continue to research books on Amazon.

Dan Brewer hung the picture of Boonville donated by Maria Dowling.

Cathy Rohr will be in charge of flowers for the library.

We hope to find a spot for a library sign near the four corners.

We will send thank you certificates in the amount of $30 for Trailside to Frances Buckingham and Richard Levesque for keeping the drive and walk clear of snow and ice.

A motion was made by Judy Wilson and seconded by Susie Hammecker to authorize finding a new computer for our out-dated one.

Since interns can work their hours throughout the year, Betty will check with Anna Mallette to see what her schedule will be.

Mary Lee O’Brien and Mary Lynn will be in charge of coffee at the Country Faire.

It is with regrets that we accept the resignation of Susie Hammecker as Treasurer of the Library.  Susie wishes to stay on the Board but would like someone to take on the responsibilities for our finances.  We will ask Cathy Rohr to serve on the Board and discuss the Treasurer’s job at another meeting.

The next Board Meeting will be on May 7, 2008, at 9PM at the library.

Mary Lee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:30AM.  The motion was seconded by Marian Lowe.

                                                                                    Respectfully submitted

Thanks to Audrey for updating the books on our shelves and displaying new books and books of interest so attractively.
